Frequently asked questions about MeetAsiatic

Everything you need to know before signing up.

Sign-up and account

Who can sign up?
Anyone aged 18 or over, single, looking for a serious relationship and accepting our terms of use. You don't need to be of Asian heritage: the site also welcomes people who share these cultures.
How do I sign up?
With an email address, which you confirm with a 6-digit code, then a password. You can also sign up with Google or Apple. All that's left is the quiz: city, heritage, languages spoken, what you are looking for.
Can I have more than one account?
No. Each person can only create one account. Multiple sign-ups may lead to the suspension of all the accounts involved.
Is a photo required?
No, it's optional. Profiles with a photo do receive many more visits and messages, though. Each photo must show your face, and you can choose to blur it.
Can I edit my profile after signing up?
Yes, at any time from your account: description, photos, heritage, languages and search preferences. Every change to your bio or photos is moderated.

Free and paid options

Is MeetAsiatic free?
Yes. Sign-up, your profile, search, likes, messages, profile visits and audio calls are free and unlimited, with no subscription.
What is paid?
Two optional extras: boosts, which put your profile at the top of the results for 24 hours, and flash messages, which let you write to a member without waiting for a match. They are bought individually or in packs, with no commitment.
Do I need a bank card to sign up?
No. No bank details are requested to sign up or to use the site. Payment is only requested if you choose to buy a boost or a flash message.

Safety and moderation

Are profiles moderated?
Yes. Every new or edited bio and photo is moderated immediately, and moderation stays active at all times: any member can report a profile in one tap.
How does moderation work?
It combines automated tools and a human team. A description or photo that breaks the rules can be rejected, an account suspended, or permanently deleted for serious breaches.
How do I report a profile?
From the profile or the conversation, with "Report" and the reason, or through the Contact page. Every report is reviewed by our moderation team.
Can I block a member?
Yes. A blocked member can no longer write to you and you no longer see their profile. You can unblock them at any time.
What is not allowed on MeetAsiatic?
Impersonation, illegal, abusive, sexual or discriminatory content, racist or fetishising remarks, harassment, commercial or advertising use, and requests for money.
What precautions should I take?
Never share money or bank details, take time to get to know someone before meeting, choose a public place for a first date, and report any suspicious behaviour.
Are minors allowed?
No. The service is strictly for people aged 18 and over. An account opened by a minor is deleted as soon as it is discovered. Our commitments are detailed on the Child safety page.

Culture and serious relationships

Do I need to be of Asian heritage?
No. MeetAsiatic is for singles of Asian heritage and for everyone who shares these cultures, including mixed-heritage and adopted people and intercultural couples. Everyone states their heritage if they wish.
Which backgrounds are represented?
Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Filipino, Cambodian, Laotian and many more. You can filter profiles by heritage and by languages spoken. See for example Chinese dating or Vietnamese dating.
Is MeetAsiatic only for serious relationships?
Yes, that's what it's for. Every member states what they are looking for, and the compatibility quiz covers what matters for building a lasting relationship, all the way to marriage for those who plan it.
Can I involve my family?
Yes, and it often matters. When and how you talk to your loved ones is up to you: the site lets you move at your own pace, with private photos and conversations that build step by step.

Using the site

What is the compatibility quiz for?
It covers the key topics of a relationship: wanting children, the role of parents, religion, where to live. Your answers help highlight profiles that share your vision of a relationship.
How do I search for profiles?
From the "Explore" tab, using your age, distance, heritage and language preferences. Our city pages also introduce the community near you, for example in New York or London.
How do likes work?
You can like the profiles you're interested in. When the interest is mutual, it's a match, and the conversation can start in private messaging.
Can we call each other on MeetAsiatic?
Yes, with built-in audio calls, free of charge. A call is only possible when both members agree: everyone stays in control.
Is there an app?
The site is designed for mobile and works in your phone's browser as well as on a computer. iOS and Android apps are in preparation.
What is the Community space?
A feed where members post tips, questions and experiences, comment and follow other members. Posts are moderated and can be reported.

Privacy and data

Can everyone see my photos?
Not if you don't want them to: your photos can stay blurred and be revealed only to the members you give access to.
Who can see my profile?
Only registered members see your profile: username, photos, description and city. Your personal data is never sold.
Is my heritage information protected?
Yes. Answering is optional. If you provide it, it is processed with your consent, only to suggest compatible profiles, and you can remove it at any time.
What are my rights over my data?
Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, delete and port your data, and to object to its processing. Everything is detailed in our privacy policy.
How do I delete my account?
From your profile settings, or by a request through the Contact page. Deletion is permanent: your profile, photos and messages are erased.
